Earth day brings awareness to our surroundings. It's a day alot of people use to take the time to pick up litter, discuss the importance of conserving energy (electricity & water), recycling, reusing what you can, and planting new plant life.
I'll never understand why many people only focus on things that are as important as this only one day out of the year!! It should be daily.
Every day, I make an effort to pick up trash that I walk by and throw it away. I don't allow my daughter to just pick pretty flowers (unless they are weeds ;) lol) We also leave spider webs alone and other bug homes when observed in nature. My husband and I, instead, use this as an opportunity to discuss what it is or does to or for the environment. We use everything we can as a learning opportunity and try to let her form her own opinions about things. We like to guide her in a direction that allows her to be sensitive to others, enjoy her surrounding, to be kind, and to love.
At home, I've been trying harder and harder to be more green and transition to safe, non toxic products. I want the toxins away from my family. It's not good for the environment either.
Make the commitment to lead a cleaner, greener, and healthier life. This will make you a happier person and the Earth a better planet to live on.
What will you do to make a change to lead to a greener and healthier life style?
What do you do already?
