First the details! This kit includes so much! You get 2 test tubes, a bubble wand and dish, a horseshoe magnet, a dropper in a fun twisty design, color mixing glasses with 6 colored lenses, and a guide with activity suggestions.
My toddler was WOW'D when we received the Learning Resources Primary Science Wow & Wonder Science Set! She spent hours (kid you not) playing with this kit and doing different activities. She could hardly wait for her father to get home from work to share them with him! Several days in a row she asked for me to help her find activites to play with her so she can use the various pieces that came along with the kit.
I love that there are so many options and there is a guide to get you started with basic activities. My daughter really enjoyed making her very own bubble solution and using the big wand to make big bubbles. She got a kick out of that! She is so used to the small wands that come in the little bubble containers from the store. LOL!
We made skittle water colors (from a suggested activity) and she thought it was so neat that she could create her very own colors, from candy!! She was thrilled with the fact that she could paint a picture from candy. It smelled good, too! I really liked this activity because we had alot of skittles left over from St. Patricks day and I'm not a huge fan of allowing her to eat alot of chewy candy... So this helped us put them to good use ;).
My little girl came up with an idea to take her horseshoe magnet around the house to find things that were magnetic vs things that were not. To me, that was impressive since she is only three years old! She would call me in excitement when she found something that was magnetic. It was a fun little activity for her and she came up with it on her own. She was learning while having fun and that's what I enjoy the most.
We've been working on color combinations with paint, markers, and reading little story books that include a character mixing paint to find another color as the result. So, these color mixing glasses have been so much fun because it's another hands on experience my daughter has that will help her learn how to mix colors and which colors she needs to mix to make a desired color. She thinks its so cool that she can wear the glasses and view things as the color she has created with the lenses. I tried them on and found them entertaining, too!
