Just recently I had the privilege to review two products from Cool Gear free of charge in exchange for my honest review and opinion.
I Will share my thoughts on each products below (separately).
First up is the 20 oz. Smoothie Tumbler! The one we received was in Green, but they are also available in Orange, Blue, and Pink. You can see the different color options HERE. This tumbler costs $14.99, but let me tell you all about it before you think-whoa! That's kind of pricey. On Cool Gear's site, they mention that this Smoothie Tumbler is made with a BPA Free Tritan material. It has a double wall that helps keep your smoothie nice and cool. I drink mine within an half hour and it stayed cold, but I will have to update when I let it sit alittle longer. Another cool feature is at the bottom of the straw. There is a little agitator that helps prevent settling of fruits/veggies at the bottom of the tumbler. I really like that idea. Every few minutes I moved the straw up and down and twisted it to make sure everything was still mixed well. This ensured I was getting all the nutrients I needed from my smoothie and they weren't all settling at the bottom. What a great idea. I don't know about you, but I'm super picky about my drinks-I NEVER drink the last few drops. Don't ask why.
I really like that this tumbler is top rack dishwasher safe because I don't always have the time to stand and wash everything by hand when I have a toddler to chase around and play dates to meet up with. However, I did find one teeny tiny problem.. but big enough for me that I probably won't continue using this tumbler with the specific straw provided. (Which appears to be ok, because it is a smoothie sized drinking straw). I had an extremely difficult time getting the inside of the straw clean where it bends. I even used a straw brush. The brush I used was one I already had and it is straight.. It gives alittle but didn't wrap around inside to get every spot clean in the smoothie straw. I think it would be much better if Cool Gear would consider sending a special straw brush with this product in the future or even offering one for sale.
Overall, a this is a great tumbler. Easy to hold with the cool little handle at the top and it's kind of sporty looking. I love that I can use this on the go and it will keep my smoothies cooler than in a regular glass for just a little bit longer.
Second, I'd like to share with you the Cool Gear Can with a handle! This thing is 33oz!! That's alot of liquid, yet the container doesn't seem huge and bulky. We received the Pretty Pink Petals design, but they also have 5 other designs you can choose from. You can check them out HERE. It only costs $12.99 on their website and is also foam insulated to help keep your liquids cool. I filled it up with iced water and took it on a picnic with my toddler and I. The day we went it was 85 degrees out and super sunny. I let the Cool Gear can sit on the picnic blanket while we enjoyed our lunch and ran around on the nearby playground. About two hours after filling it up initially, the ice had melted but the drink was still as cold as it would be coming out of your refrigerator. When we arrived home, it had been a total of 3.5 hours since I initially filled it up and even though it lost most of the coolness, it was still cool enough to drink and enjoy. This was good enough for me!
At the top of this can, it looks just like the top of a pop can and has a little tab. (Yes, I'm from Western, PA.. To make the rest of you folks happy, I'll say Soda Pop). HA HA
This tab slides back and forth to allow the wide mouth top open up. It's easy to drink from the can, but I prefer to poor the liquid into a glass instead. I love that it's not too big to bring along but it's enough to share with someone else without having to lug around a cooler or a big jug of water when you want to enjoy a few hours at the park.
The lid is spill proof and this can is also top rack dishwasher safe. It's very easy to clean by hand and I have no issues doing so.
What's creative about this Cool Gear can is that it is dual threaded so anyone can use it whether you are a righty or a lefty!
I thought it was very thoughtful to create a handle on this can to help carry it around, and to assist in pouring, too.
We go camping alot and on little picnics. I've already used this product so much and will continue to do so. I totally recommend it and LOVE the design. It's so fun and unique!
I've include additional photos at the bottom of this post. Go check them out :)
