These are ice pop pouches that are reusable, how cool is that?! You can take them with you wherever you go, mess free.
*** I received this product for the purpose of this review free of charge. I was not persuaded to write a positive review in any way. If I've written a great review it's because I genuinely felt that way. ***
This product was created when the companies son couldn't eat products that contained strong food dyes. The family wanted to have more control on what he was eating and know it was safe. They knew that making their own ice pops would be a way healthier option anyway. On their site they say "We began making our own ice pops at home using traditional hard molds with sticks. One day while in the car Luke made the comment, “too bad we can’t bring them with us.” Well that was all it took. It was our “aha!” moment. Soon we were all off and running with the idea for Zipzicle® zip-top pops."
Zipzicles are created with BPA free, phthalate-free, freezer grade material.
I love that this company is willing to take constructive criticism and improve their product based on reviews. They have reinforced the side seals of the Zipzicle to increase durability after hearing fan feedback. I think this is wonderful and the road to success.
The Zipzicles come in packs of 18 or 36. Each pouch holds about 3 oz. They are 9"x2" in length. They are the perfect size for little hands. If they are handled with care, they can be reused. Care instructions: Wash with warm soapy water and air dry. They recommend air drying on a baby bottle rack or in a cup over a couple straws inserted.
I love that you can get as creative as you want as to what you want to fill your Zipzicle's up with. We are smoothie fans, so I thought it would be great to whip up a few smoothie recipes and freeze them for a fun Summer snack!! (Recipes are below) I am pleased when my daughter asks for a popsicle and I can pull one of these out for her knowing that it's not filled with artificial dyes and undesirable sugary syrup that is so nonbeneficial to her health. I encourage her to eat how ever many she wants, but she usually eats one because the size is so perfect for her and its the perfect snack.
They are not hard to fill at all, as long as you have a funnel handy. I do wish the product came with a funnel of some sort to use with their pouches. Although it seems like everyone would, not everyone has a funnel at home and I didn't find it pleasing to search my kitchen for something to aid me in pouring my mixture into the small holes at the top of the zipzicle pouch. I had a funnel pitcher sort of thing I used and it turns out it worked perfectly.
They do recommend that you freeze your Zipzicle's upright in a container such as a cup.
Zipzicle will ship worldwide, so be sure to check them out at www.zipzicles.com. They also sell Ice Pop Holders that come in a 4 pack. This is perfect for keeping your hands from getting too cold. I always have to wrap a paper towel around my toddlers because her hands always get too cold. I'll be ordering a pack of these in the near future!!
I think it's fantastic that they also GIVE BACK! Zipzicle supports charitable events and organizations, such as: Hunger Intervention Program, Pediatric Epilepsy Program, Relay for Life, and more..
