Rhode Island Novelty generously sent me three products to try and share my honest reviews on. Below you will find alittle info about each product and you can keep up to date with all things happening with RI Novelty!
First, we received the Blue Morpho Butterfly Wings. My daughter was absolutely thrilled to receive these because she loves all things nature and this was right up her alley. She already knew the life cycle of a butterfly and loves to role play using her new butterfly wings from RI Novelty. It's plush, perfect size for her, and awesome quality. It's seriously better than the numerous ones I've looked at in the stores. Most of the time I find them in a flimsy fabric and I haven't been a huge fan of those one. However, this one is plush and the wings are more manageable during play. My daughter says its easy to use and she loves the color. She often crouches down pretending to be a caterpillar in a cocoon then springs up into a beautiful butterfly. She loves to flutter around the house. These wings are recommended for ages 5+ on the website, but my daughter is 4 and she does just fine with them. She loves that there's elastic at the end of each wing to put her hands in to secure them. The Blue Morpho Butterfly Wings only cost $12 and can be found HERE. RI Novelty also offers them in the Monarch pattern, too. They also look adorable.
Second, we received the Glow-In-The-Dark Pink Moon Blaster. It comes in three different colors (Green, Blue, and Pink). RI Novelty sent us the pink one. This was a huge hit right away. My little one loves shooting the balls around the house. If you hold them close to a light for a few moments, they glow in the dark. It's alot of fun to play with them in the dark because you can still see where the balls go. We only have one of these moon blasters, but I think it'd be cool for each of us to have one to have family moon blasting fun nights!! At $6.75 it'd be worth it and create alot of fun memories. They would make a great gift to play with friends also. It's easy to refill with the balls that came with it and there are plenty included. We have also had fun setting up targets and letting my daughter blast them. She giggles when a ball actually hits them. The age recommended for these are 12+ but with alittle help in the beginning, my daughter was able to use it on her own in no time. If this is something you know someone would enjoy, you can check them out HERE.
Third, we received the Remote Control Bird/Pigeon. We were super excited to receive this one, but honestly to our disappointment it was hard to control, even for mommy and daddy and we feel it's just not worth your time. Our daughter is only 4 so we expected to have to help her but we could barely fly it.. you have very little control and it just goes up fast and hits the ceiling or wall and comes crashing down. After attempting to fly it a couple times, the wing broke and it wouldn't fly. The wing reminds me of cellophane (very thin). We taped it and it worked again like it did before.. long enough for it to come crashing down into the carpet and breaking its styrofoam beak. I feel that RI Novelty needs to work on some adjustments to improve this product before I'd even consider recommending it to anyone that I know. It was a huge disappointment to us. It's pattern and colors are beautiful though and the controller was easy to understand. The motor and durability/design needs improvement to help with wing control and being able to use it multiple times. If you are interested in viewing this product, you can see it HERE at the price of $21. I do want to mention that RI Novelty does sell other remote control products that you may have better luck with and have more common designs like other products/brands on the market. So, it might be worth looking into them. You can find them HERE.
RI Novelty also sells a variety of toys and other products on their website and you are welcome to browse them at rinovelty.com!
Stay up to date with RI Novelty by following them on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube!
If you are interested, they have two contests going on right now that end on 11/28/2016!! You can find out more info about it HERE. Good luck!!!!
