BeKoool Products are really cool. You want to know why?! Well, think about the times you or your kiddos have been sick with aweful headaches, migraines, and fevers... We are always reaching for that wet sloppy rag that gets warm way too fast and makes the area uncomfortable to lay in because of the water dripping. BeKoool eliminates that problem!! They are non-medicated cooling gel sheets that are designed for kids and adults to help proved immediate cooling relief, as described on their website.
The BeKoool Soft Gel Sheets for Adults come in a 4 count pack of 2. They are great for migraines, headaches, and fevers. I've only used mine for headaches as I get them often and badly. I love that I can cut the gel sheets to the size that I need and just adhere it to my forehead. It's sticky but not sticky enough to pull hairs out when you want to take it off. Another thing I think is really cool is that they feel cool on your head and they don't even have to be refrigerated! I am a little bummed that the box had no ingredients listed because, as a consumer, I'd like to know what is in the "non-medicated" product that I'm using on myself or my child. Somethings making it cool and I don't exactly know what. I haven't confirmed it but I did read somewhere that others have researched and learned that they are water based with a polymer, menthol, and a slight amount of preservatives). I will have to update that with any new info I find out about the BeKoool Soft Gel Sheets.
Just recently I fell and really hurt my ankle when leaving my dentist. I kept applying ice and dealing with all the wet mess that comes with it. After a day or two of that, I remembered that I had these gel sheets from BeKoool! I couldn't wait to give them a try. I put one on my ankle and I couldn't believe how much cooling relief I had that mimicked the ice, but without the mess. I find that they don't last the 8 hours advertised, at least for me. But they did last up to about 3-4 hours on my head or my ankle. After that, it seemed to only feel cool when I actually touched the gel on my forehead and pushed on it, then it would start to feel warm again. I think they are still worth having on hand, even if it's for sprains, hotflashes, headaches, migraines, etc... It's a wonderful product.
The BeKoool Soft Gel Sheets for Kids also come in a 4 count pack of 2. My daughter doesn't really get headaches and I sure as hope it stays that way. She is three years old and even though she doesn't need these gel sheets for her head, I found they've come in handy for small boo boos (that you can't see) and for fevers. Again, it adheres gently to her head and doesn't have the mess that ice would have. That's a huge pro for me. They are advertised to last up to 6 hours but honestly, she didn't let me keep them on her past an hour each time we've used them. The biggest con for me is not being able to easily find the ingredient list. This is a huge deal when you are using a product on your kids! It'd be nice if they were reusable, too. But it's really cool to still have this option when I need something quick, portable, and that will provide some relief til we can get to a place to take better care of boo boos or whatever the situation may be. I still give them thumbs up because it's a really cool product! I cut a few pieces to have in my travel first aid bag, too!!
Another product that BeKoool sent to me was the Kinsa Smart Thermometer. It's really neat. I didn't realize there was such a tool out there. Its engaging and helpful for the parent using it. It keeps track of illness history and for more than one person!! How awesome is that? It takes about 10 seconds, like our "normal" ear thermometer, for a reading. This is used under the tongue, under arm, or rectal though. It's pretty small and easy to use. It seems durable and well made. You do connect it to your phone (compatible with iPhone 6s, 6, 5s, 5, 5c, 4s. Samsung Galaxy S6, S5, S4, S3. Nexus 6, and other devices. The icons on the App for it are easy to understand as well. My favorite part of this is being able to keep multiple profiles. Another cool feature is to help entertain kids while they are waiting on their reading. It's a bubble popping game!! My toddler loves it. It's not sensitive though, so it is hard to pop the bubbles.. It seems like you have to be at the right angle. This thermometer is FDA cleared professional accuracy. Oh, it also came with an extension cord to use while connected to the phone. I read that Kinsas mission is to stop the speed of disease and this thermometer was created as a tool to help from the moment someone has an illness. I love that it keeps information at your fingertips and it can be updated when needed. I'm not sure about the accuracy of temp between the different uses but so far, it has worked for us.
They also sent the Dad to Dad: Parenting Like A Pro book. The highlights in this book are from the birth to toddler years with pediatrician advice that is informative. So basically, Daddy is learning baby basics such as: Sleeping, crying, eating, BM's, etc... They also discuss illnesses and what to keep your eye on. It shares a vaccination guide and why each is recommended. Dad to Dad is to help Dad's to feel more comfortable about their role as a father and have answers conveniently located in this book. It's a nice reference and great to have on hand whether it be for Dad or a Mom really. It's nicely laid out, very simple, and easy to follow. I think it's wonderful for first time Dad's (or Moms) so they can be on the same page and have basic info right there for them.
BeKoool provided us with two Llama Llama books to enjoy as well. The one is called "Llama Llama Holiday Drama" and the other is "Llama Llama Home With Mama". We are huge fans of Llama so these were a big hit from the beginning. They are nice hardback books and my daughter loves us reading them to her. The pictures are colorful and self explanatory so she likes to read her own version to us as well. :)
The Holiday Drama is about Llama Llama rushing around with his Mama shopping for presents. They bake cookies, decorate the tree, etc... But Llama Llama becomes very impatient and wants to know when Christmas will come. Mama cuddles him and reminds him that "gifts are nice, but the true gift is that they have eachother". I love the message it gives at the end and it teaches our children to be kind to one another and appreciate what they have in life and not to be so greedy. Patience is definitely no kids strong suit. Llama Llama easily gets overwhelmed and kids can relate to that. Heck, as adults, we can too. Sometimes we need to be reminded of this very important message.
The other book Llama LLama stays home with his Mama because he isn't feeling well. He quickly becomes bored. Mama starts to fall ill after taking care of Llama Llama and he starts to take care of her because he knows exactly what to do. He learns from his Mama that "Love is the best medicine". I love this message too, because I couldn't agree more!!
