My toddler absolutely loves these!! They are so much fun to play with. There are times she gets extremely frustrated because she is unable to get them lined up good enough for them to have a super suction to one another, but a little maneuvering and all is well!!
They are wonderful to play with in the tub, on the table, or even the floor. The container isn't too big that it would be an issue to take along with you for trips. They provide fun for hours.. ok, maybe not hours but a good amount of time!!!
These can be purchased in Mini Squigz, like the ones I received, or the regular size PipSquigz.
Below is some information on the product that I took from their website at www.funphysicstoys.com
Product Description Recommended Age: 5 & Up
Mini Squigz may be tiny, but their building fun is MIGHTY!
These new members of the Squigz family are 40% smaller, packed with more pieces, and designed with the addition of a new shape and new colors. They take Suction Construction to a whole new level of POPPING excitement!
Just like the originals, much of the thrill is in pushing them together and pulling them apart for that ever so ear-pleasing POP. But now, the building possibilities are more endless, more intricate, and more fun than ever before.
Stick them to any flat surface you can imagine. Build them up, out, sideways, around, and any which way you can think of. Just like before, they always stick strong and never leave behind any residue.
Mini Squigz are all about freedom of expressive construction while boosting fine motor skills to whole new heights. The moment you pick these little suckers up, your hands won't want to stop exploring, experimenting, and endlessly constructing!
I do like that they are colorful and each designed piece has it's own color associated with it's shape. My daughter is almost three and she loves to sort them by color and shape.
We have had a few play dates and her Mini Squigz have been a favorite amongst the kids. There's plenty that come in the can and there is enough to share with a friend or two.
Us adults have had fun with them, too ;).
I think these would make a fun little gift. It seems like everyone would enjoy them and build with their imagination!!
Fun Physics Toys offers more than these fun little Squigz. They offer many educational toys and products. If this is something that interests you, I'd suggest checking them out at www.funphysicstoys.com
Here is a little info about their idea on STEM learning taken straight from the Home page on www.funphysics.com:
What is STEM? STEM learning is the way of a successful, educated future. Science, Engineering, Technology and Math are the focus for creative, innovative and exploratory learning practices. The beauty of learning through STEM is kids forget they are learning. Through experiences, children learn when they don’t realize. Observing science experiments, solving engineering puzzles, creating technological codes and applying math equations to solve problems are tangible methods of learning that truly prepare children for the “real-life” future. In recent years, educators have added Arts to the curriculum creating STEM education. While many schools are adopting STEM learning techniques, parents can continue the experience at home with kids educational toys, specifically targeting the STEM subjects. Kids love playing, and we love making learning fun. That’s why it’s Fun Physics’ mission to encourage an enhanced way of play. As a family of engineers, Fun Physics strives to engage children in learning with developmental toys. Children that play with STEM toys are likely to pick up on the workings of the natural world.
Children, especially ages 2-8 years old, are very susceptible to creative thinking. Without the extrinsic societal influences on thought processes, children have the ability to think freely without the rules and regulations many adults accidentally build. This brings out the innovation at a young age. When children are exposed to the high-level thinking at an early age, it becomes habitual to think outside of the box and into the world of pure genius.
STEM education is a national priority. It originated as the United States realized other countries were advancing in education while the U.S. remained stagnant, especially in the science, technology, engineering and math subject areas. Young adults were straying away from the sciences as a career path. Therefore, educators came together to develop an education curriculum to interest children in these subjects from an early age. It is working!
So, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, any adults, we are calling you to continue this action. Give your children the opportunity for a fantastic career life full of thought-provoking, intellectual, out-of-the-box thinking by starting young and fostering educational learning with STEM toys.
