When I first found out about this company and tablecloth, I knew it would be perfect for my almost three year old daughter. It's fun, colorful, educational, a great conversation piece, and helps with focus during our meal times.
I love that it has simple to more complicated math problems and that we can choose which section we want to work on because there are so many math lessons on this table cloth.
Sometimes my daughter gets antsy and doesn't like to sit still. She often runs off to play while my husband and I are left at the table eating without her. When we first received this Table-Time Look & Learn table cloth, she was so intrigued by it. I was pleased how she was engaged in something that's going to help her problem solving skills and teach her while we are at the table. We can easily talk about the different lessons and just have fun with it.
She had a friend over one day for lunch and he enjoyed it just as much and he was a year older than she is.
I found that the "Mostly Math" table cloth is very inviting and usually strikes up a nice little conversation.
There are "What comes next?" problems and you can fill them out with a washable dry-erase marker if you please. It's easy to wipe off.
My daughter isn't as focused now on the table cloth as she was when we first received it but I'm hoping in time she will be more interested in it as she understands more. You have to start somewhere, right? I'm thinking about switching the table cloth around by rotating it and see if she notices and if she will gain new interest in the problems on it.
There are some questionable areas on this table cloth that I redirect my daughter from because I'm not sure that I agree with them. For an example, there is a sections that have dice lined up and all the dots on the dice are jumbled up and not positioned correctly. I also wasn't a big fan of the part where it clumps together the seasons, clocks, and numbers corresponding with the month of the year by using the clocks. This could easily confuse the child and I think they should be separated. I do like touching on those sections separately.
Table-Time Look & Learn clearly worked hard on this master piece though and there are way more positives in the table cloth than negative. Those were just a few things I would like to change around. There are so many lessons including; counting, number recognition, patterns, shapes, season, phone number, addition, subtraction, and alot more!!
I found that it's easy to clean the table cloth off after meal times but over the last month, I've noticed some fading in the spot my daughter sits. I assume its from the repeated wiping down. I haven't had it that long, so I was a little disappointed in that. You still see the image though. Table-Time Look & Learn sent me an older version and said they worked hard on fixing that issue. The new table cloths won't fade like the one I have.
I am a big fan that it's made from PEVA which is child safe and feels like a vinyl tablecloth but isn't.
I am hoping to see more versions in the future from Table-Time Look & Learn. I think having different grade levels would be great. Some suggestions I have would be one geared towards Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, etc.... Or even have tablecloths that focus on specific problem solving skills so it's not too overwhelming. I think having one geared towards numbers, abcs, and shapes would be great for the younger kids. Another one would be great for just patterning using different picture objects, letters, numbers in pattern form. Just having something geared toward a specific age group would be great instead of jumbling it all together for a few age groups. But then again, this one I have is great for families that have multiple kids of different age groups. I like to have options though and think it would be a nice extension to the company.
This "Mostly Math" table cloth is recommended for ages 18 mts-6 years. It's a big age range.
It measures 52"x72" and it's perfect for a rectangular table.

I think it would be worth your time to check them out on their website at www.tabletimelookandlearn.com because this would be a great gift or addition in your home. It's fun math and the kids learn something without feeling like they are or being forced to sit and do math work.
